A PrettyScale alternative that shows its measurements

PrettyScale is one of the oldest “rate my face” pages. FaceTwin does the same job with a different approach: a 1–10 score built from named, visible measurements, all in your browser.

In short: FaceTwin is a PrettyScale alternative that runs in your browser and shows its working. It places 68 landmarks, scores symmetry, golden ratio, facial thirds, canthal tilt and jaw angle, and gives a 1–10 score with a percentile against 1,196 reference faces. It is free, needs no sign-up and does not upload your photo. PrettyScale gives a 1–100 score and is also free to try.

What is a good alternative to PrettyScale?

PrettyScale is a web page that offers an online face beauty test: you upload a photo or use your webcam, and it returns a score out of 100. Its page says the result comes from mathematical calculations by a computer, may be incorrect, and that photos are not saved or shared (as of November 2026). FaceTwin is a free alternative with a different output. Your browser places 68 landmarks on your selfie, then scores symmetry, seven golden-ratio checks, facial thirds, canthal tilt and jaw angle to produce a 1–10 score and a percentile against 1,196 reference faces, with a PSL estimate and guides drawn on your photo. It needs no sign-up and the photo is never uploaded. If you want a score out of 100 with a webcam shortcut, PrettyScale does that; if you want to see what the number is made of, FaceTwin is the alternative.

  • PrettyScale: score out of 100
  • FaceTwin: 1–10 plus percentile
  • Both free to try, no account in FaceTwin
  • FaceTwin shows each measurement

How to use it

  1. Upload a selfie or take one: a front-facing, well-lit photo of yourself, no glasses, neutral expression.
  2. Wait a few seconds: the face model finds 68 landmarks in your browser; the photo is not uploaded.
  3. Read your 1–10 score and the six explained measurements.
  4. Try two more photos and average them for a steadier result.

Why show the measurements?

A bare number invites the wrong question: what does 62 out of 100 mean? Without a method and a reference set, there is no way to answer. FaceTwin tells you that its score is a weighted blend of five proportions, that the median across 1,196 reference faces is 7.2, and that 80% of them fall between 6.4 and 8.0. A 7.2 therefore means “middle of this reference set”, and a 6.4 means “in the lower tenth of it”. That is a statement you can check, though it says nothing about worth or about how people see you.

It also helps you act sensibly on a result. If symmetry pulls your score down, retake the photo with your head straight and see whether the value moves. If the jaw angle reads soft, a different camera height changes it. Often the number is telling you about the photo.

How to get a fair reading from any face rater

  1. Hold the phone at arm’s length or further and at eye level; close, low or high angles distort proportions.
  2. Face a window or soft light; avoid hard shadows across half the face.
  3. Neutral expression, mouth closed, hair off the forehead and ears if possible, no glasses or filters.
  4. Take two or three photos and compare. The spread is your honest uncertainty.
  5. Use only your own photo, and only if you are 18 or older.

When PrettyScale may suit you better

If you like a single big number out of 100, want to use the webcam directly, or want the body test it also offers, PrettyScale covers that. FaceTwin does not offer a webcam-only score or a body test. For a measured face rating with the working shown and no account, FaceTwin is the alternative.

Frequently asked questions

Is PrettyScale accurate?

Its own page says results are mathematical and may be incorrect, which is a fair description of every face scoring tool: the number reflects a photo, not your worth.

Is PrettyScale free?

We could not find pricing on its homepage in November 2026. FaceTwin’s rating is free with no sign-up.

What is the difference between a 1–100 and a 1–10 score?

Only the scale. What matters is what each is made of and what it is compared with. FaceTwin states both: five proportions, and 1,196 reference faces.

Does FaceTwin save my photo?

No. The free rating is computed in your browser and the photo is not uploaded.

Can I use my webcam on FaceTwin?

FaceTwin takes an uploaded selfie; take one with your camera app and choose it.

Is FaceTwin affiliated with PrettyScale?

No. It is an independent site.

Is my photo uploaded?

Not for local lookalikes or face analysis: the model runs in your browser, so your selfie, landmarks and descriptor stay on your device. AI portraits, including the first free one, and full reports send your photo through our server to the AI provider after a free first-portrait request or a credit purchase, and separate upload consent. Reports also send your numeric measurements. FaceTwin does not save the original photo; it is discarded from request memory after processing.
